Northcote House Re-roofing and Re-pointing - University of Exeter

Our Contracts Team carried out the re-roofing and re-pointing works at Northcote House whilst the building was fully occupied with all re-pointing works requiring access from the car park being completed at weekends and out of hours.

Our team had to strip off the existing chippings and copings prior to installing new insulation and roofing products to the south wing of Northcote House in tandem with the re-installation of copings thereafter and the re-pointing of high level brickwork with minimal disruption to the senior management of the University of Exeter.

The project had to be split into 5 phases, to allow for certain elements of works to be carried out whilst the Vice Chancellor was away from his office which meant that there was the need for weekend working throughout the project, especially whilst the existing pointing had to be cut out.  Whilst the works were being carried out there was an issue identified with the existing weather vane which was then removed, re-coated and re-installed via crane out of hours to minimise disruption to the University.
